Empowered Leading and Teaching
Through the 4Cs Capabilities
A professional deep learning opportunity
Are you a school leader or middle leader interested in explicitly developing
vital capabilities in yourself, your teachers and your students?

for leaders at the primary, secondary level and early learning level and across all sectors.
The 4C Capabilities
Creativity

Communication

Critical Reflection
The stages of critical reflection are visualised
in 4CTL’s Critical Reflection Crucible.
What will this workshop explore?
These 3 days will explore how education leaders can develop deep learning cultures responsive to their unique school context. We will engage with research in 4C capabilities: Creativity, Critical Reflection, Communication and Collaboration, and unpack how explicitly developing these capabilities is vital for leading your school, college or early learning centre – both in and out of the classroom.
The workshop will involve practical and experiential learning that is challenging and empowering, designed to explore how to make these complex capabilities explicitly teachable, learnable and assessable for teachers and students.
The workshop is inspired by the research detailed in Michael Anderson and Miranda Jefferson’s books, Transforming Education: Reimagining Learning, Pedagogy and Curriculum (2021) and Transforming Schools: Creativity, Critical Reflection, Communication, Collaboration (2017).
This workshop will provide leaders with tangible and actionable deep learning goals, tools and strategies to maximise the potential of their teachers and leaders. It will also create opportunities to meet, collaborate and learn with other like-minded school leaders looking to lead their school cultures into deeper learning.
What our past attendees are saying
“The sessions with the 4CTL team were both engaging and thought-provoking, offering deep insights into the choices we make as educators and leaders. Jamie and the 4CTL team's approach was grounded in heart and connection, quickly establishing a safe and supportive environment where participants felt comfortable to share and reflect. With strong rapport and a genuine commitment to fostering meaningful conversations, the session left us inspired and empowered to bring thoughtful, positive change to our teaching and leadership practices.”

Who is this workshop for?
Principals, executive leadership, middle leaders and leading teachers, from primary, high school and early learning contexts, interested in being introduced to practical, research-based, deep professional learning that builds leadership, learning capacity and agency in schools. This workshop is open to all school sectors (private, government, independent, catholic).
This workshop is ideal for educational leaders with a commitment to transforming their school, but who may be struggling with the how of enacting this transformation. 4C Transformative Learning are experts at translating the research-grounded concepts of educational transformation into practical, actionable pathways forward. When leaders understanding that transforming a school is a long-haul journey, with no silver bullets, and they are willing to both engage personally with the change that’s necessary for transformation, and to lead their teams as they learn to make these changes, it infuses transformative learning into the school, centre or organisation’s DNA. It’s a big, bold vision that often stumbles, because the practical “how to” information is rarely found in the books and presentations of dynamic personalities in the professional learning sphere.
If you’re ready to dig deeper, and learn about and experience the capabilities that enable the sometimes hard, often slow, but truly impactful path to school transformation, this workshop is for you.
What 4CTL clients are saying
“The 4CTL team has been instrumental in revamping our whole school (ELC-12) approach to learning across 2 campuses. Their customised guidance led to mindset shifts and lasting patterns embedded within our practices.
Unlike many previous professional learning, their strategies have been tailor-made for us, resulting in sustained improvement. They're like the personal trainers of organisational transformation.
I wholeheartedly recommend their services if you are seeking meaningful and enduring change.”
