4Cs In Practice Workshops
In-person holiday workshops for teachers and leaders, held in Sydney.
The 4Cs In Practice Workshops are school holiday workshops exploring, clarifying and challenging your understanding of making the 4Cs come to life in your classrooms and schools.
These workshops will invite you to collaborate, play and reflect with educators and school leaders from across the 4C Network and beyond.
There’ll be opportunities to examine real-world challenges from your setting, related to the workshop’s theme.
You’ll walk away with workshopped actions ready to be embedded, implemented or shared within your own setting.
They’ll also give you the opportunity to work with, and learn from, the expertise of 4CTL Senior Practice Leaders.

Term 1 Holidays: Metacognition
Monday April 22nd, 2024

Metacognition: Our untapped superpower
Metacognition plays a central role in a person’s ability to solve problems and learn new things. In this evidence-led, interactive and experiential workshop suitable for both teachers and school leaders, participants will:
Explore how metacognition and neuroplasticity can be harnessed to generate change and deeper learning.
Discover how to design learning for others to experience and build metacognition.
Explore the Learning Disposition Wheel, a diagnostic tool that represents the cognitive, intrapersonal and interpersonal competencies needed for self-regulated learning.
Key takeaways for attendees:
Knowing that how we can learn and why we can learn creates a ‘growth mindset’ or a positive belief in being able to learn. This is powerful!
Our learning capacity is a dynamic between innate ability and the experience and beliefs we develop towards learning.
The development of positive and productive beliefs through metacognition and experience can be transformative.

Metacognition: Cultivating learner agency through metacognition - JULY 2023
In this workshop we unpacked and clarified the meaning of metacognition and its implications for how we create learning environments for agency. We explored the relationship between metacognition, the Learning Disposition Wheel and the 4Cs.
It was a practical, embodied workshop where participants collaborated with others to deepen their understanding of metacognition as well as workshopped ideas for their own settings.
AGENCY: Cultivating learner agency - ApRIL 2023
In this workshop we unpacked student agency and how we incorporate this into our classrooms. We explored the relationship between agency, the Learning Disposition Wheel and the 4Cs.
